It's a ....... well, maybe....er

Hello All,
Well, we found out the gender of our new baby today, sort of. ;-}
First let me say this: It's a girl! Yay!  We are very excited about that, and although I think my mom may have jinxed us into a girl, I'm quite happy with the news. :-)

Okay, on with the "sort of" comment.  Today was the big ultrasound day where they check for the physical characteristics of the baby (two arms, two legs, one head, ect...) and they can just so happen to check the gender too, but that's not the main point. (Though it may be to the parents. :-) For this big ultrasound my mom, Susan, brother Hunter and new sister in law Mandy all came down from Ft. Worth to watch the video after the appointment via the DVD they record during the ultrasound. My other brother Taylor and his friend Bill met us for lunch before the appointment. Lots of folks are excited here. It would be a shame if something got screwed up at this point....like the time of the appointment! grrrr.

So I originally thought the appointment was at 1 p.m. (the correct time) and then recorded it on my phone as 2 p.m. (the wrong time). Lord only knows why.  So of course we showed up promptly at 2 p.m. for the 1 p.m. appointment. rar. The office had no additional openings for the day so we had to reschedule the ultrasound appointment for Wednesday. I was so sad. Everyone had come down for the day only to miss the timing on it and I was so looking forward to finding out who is growing inside me. I felt terrible. Everyone was very supportive though. (I mean, it's not the end of the world right? We simply reschedule. Ah, such easy words now...Pregnant emotions are rough on a girl!....I also blame the situation on Pregnancy Forgetfulness  :-D)

Well, as the Lord would have it, I have a WONDERFUL doctor (who is Dr. Michelle Manning) and she gladly went and absconded the portable ultrasound unit so we could at least check to see if we had a boy or a girl coming our way. Yay Michelle! She saved the day!
Because it was just a quick peek, we can't be 100% sure it's a girl, but things are definitely looking that way! Mom was just beside herself and we are happy to be able to focus on our name search and other baby essentials. :-)

I hope everyone has a great New Year! Will post again soon!

Megan
